Services for Billy "Bebop" Davis, age 72 of Dublin, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 5, 2014 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. James Covington will officiate and burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Davis was born in Wrightsville. Mr. Davis was owner of Davis Trucking.He was the son of the late J. C. Davis and the late Mellie Ree Edge Davis. Survivors include his wife, Lola Gunn Davis of Dublin, children, Ken and Betty Jo Davis of Dublin, Teresa and Paul Jackson of Sandersville, Holly and John McKnight of Kingman, AZ, brother, James Davis of Wrightsville, grandchildren, Crystal Morgan, Crystal McCoy, Angel Johnson, Savannah Jackson and Joshua Jackson, 4 great grandchildren, Payton McCoy, Collin McCoy, Peyton Blue, Prestand Blue. Russell Sheppard, Wes Sheppard, Charles Blue, Terry Beckham, Denny Thompson, and Tom Bush will serve as pallbearers. Ralph Adcock, Tom Clay, Monroe Rozier, Butch Clay, Hyman Bush, Louie Allison and James Davis, Jr. will serve as honorary pallbearers.
