Obituary

Mr. Michael William "Billy" Talbott, age 88, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022 after a brief illness.

Mr. Talbott was born May 9, 1934 in Takoma Park, Maryland; he was preceded in death by his parents, the late Charles Talbott and Mary Machek Talbott, his wife, Emily Quay Mullis Talbott and a sister, Jeannie Hempsher.

He was a longtime member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army. While serving, he was a Field Artillery Spotter and obtained the classification as Master Rifleman. He retired from Motorola Communications after many years as a service technician. Known for his strong work ethic, retirement didn't slow him down. He continued to work daily, maintaining cellular towers, until just a few weeks before his death. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. His love for the outdoors could be shown through his meticulous work as a gunsmith and the many fishing rods that he built.

Although he had a deep love for nature, nothing compared to the love that he showed to his family. A natural caregiver, he always made sure that the needs of his family were met long before his. He was a loving and dedicated, husband, father, grandfather and a friend to many.

He is survived by his sons, Charles Denton (Heather) Talbott of St. Paul, MN, Michael Timothy Talbott, of Cedar Grove, Albert Joseph (Pamela) Talbott, of McDonough and Mark Weston Talbottof Cedar Grove; thirteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a brother, Albert Talbott; two sisters, Margie Talbott and Karen Risely and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dylan Bowden officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the funeral home.

His sons, Charles Denton Talbott, Michael Timothy Talbott, Albert Joseph Talbott, Mark Weston Talbott; grandsons, Michael Talbott and Christopher Talbott and nephew, Eric Vickers will serve as pallbearers.
