Billy Wood, age 66, of Glenwood, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021.

Mr. Wood was a native of Laurens County and the son of the late Nathan and Betty Edley Wood. He was a retired heavy equipment operator with the Laurens County Board of Commissioners Public Works and a member of White Springs Baptist Church. Billy enjoyed the outdoors and he liked to cook and bake. He had the biggest heart and was always willing to help others in need.  One of his greatest joys was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Wood.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Wanda S. Wood, of Glenwood; daughter, Wendy Baggett (Gabe Ramsey), of Oxford, GA; son, Nathan Howard Wood (Sandy), of Glenwood; grandchildren, Taylor Rebecca Baggett, MaKenna Kate Ramsey, Noah Dillon Wood, Nash Dykes Wood; siblings, Bobby Wood (Rhonda), Dennis Wood (Alice), Gene Wood (Angie), Don Wood, Terry Wood, Amanda Bentley, Sally Erck, Jill Nunn (Scott), Shirley Dillon (Jackie), Mary Jane Giddens (Buddy); sister-in-law, Denise Wood; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Howard and Annette Swinson, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at White Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Chuck Yzenski will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Peyton Veal, Bobby Wood, John Farrell, Michael Hartley, Richard Watson, and Leon Brooks.
