Obituary

Bobby E. King, passed away on July 14, 2026, in Cadwell, Georgia, at the age of 77, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on May 2, 1949, in Eastman, Georgia, to the late Gilford and Myrtle Ruth King. Bobby grew up in Alamo, Georgia, and later moved to Helena in the seventh grade. He graduated from Telfair County High School and carried the values of hard work, loyalty, and perseverance with him throughout his life.

Bobby devoted his life to building, serving, and caring for those around him. He worked alongside his father until his passing and then took over King Builders Construction Company, where he remained in business for 42 years. He took great pride in every project he completed and was known throughout the Middle Georgia area for building houses and remodeling homes with skill and integrity. His work reflected the kind of man he was, because he was handy, loving, and selfless in all that he did.

He was a member of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church and the Georgia Builders Association. Bobby valued the relationships he formed through his profession, and his community, and he was respected by many for his steady character and dependable nature. Those who knew him will remember a man who approached life with humility and a strong sense of responsibility.

Above all else, Bobby cherished his family. They were his number one priority, and his greatest joy came from the time he spent with them. His grandchildren and great-granddaughter were the love of his life, and he treasured every moment shared with them. His love for his family was evident in the way he lived, worked, and cared for those closest to him.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Alicia M. King of Cadwell; his daughter, Beth Royster and her husband Clay of Statham; his son, Robert G. King of Cadwell; and his daughter, Amanda Miller and her husband Steve of Eastman. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Karly Hogan and her husband Austin, Peyton Royster, Austyn Miller, and Cooper Miller; his great-granddaughter, Lillie Anne Hogan; his brothers, Wayne King of McRae and Donald King and his wife Gloria of Dexter; his sister, Gail Cannon of Glenwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
