Obituary

Services for Bobby Ray Kilgore, Sr., age 72 of East Dublin, will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Brewton Baptist Church with burial to follow in Brewton Cemetery. Rev. Kelly Maddox will officiate. Mr. Kilgore was a lifelong resident of Laurens County. He retired from J.P. Stevens (Forstmann & Co.) and also worked as a bus driver with the Laurens County Board of Education. He was a member of Brewton Baptist Church and loved fishing and hunting. Mr. Kilgore was preceded in death by his parents, Howard David Kilgore and Auda Mae Ward Kilgore, a brother, Hugh Kilgore and a brother-in-law, Edward Cook. He passed away on May 3, 2011. He is survived by his spouse, Melba Jean Califf Kilgore of East Dublin; son, Bobby Ray Kilgore, Jr. of East Dublin; two daughters, Gloria Jean (Randy) Gay and Tammy K. (Mark) Tarpley both of East Dublin; two grandsons, Keith (Kristen) Foskey and Chris Tarpley both of East Dublin; three granddaughters, Katie Foskey, April (Billy) Madden and Chana Gay, all of East Dublin; two great-granddaughters, Jayden Klaire Foskey and Brooklyn Grace Foskey both of East Dublin; great-grandson, Jason Brinson Madden of East Dublin; brother, Fred (Delana) Kilgore of East Dublin; two sisters, Betty Cook and Peggy (Hall) Outlaw, both of East Dublin, and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brett Reagan, Timmy Kilgore, David Kilgore, Jeff Foskey, Rodney Soles and Seth Howell. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. They may be contacted at the home of Tammy Tarpley, 1188 Graham Road in East Dublin.
