Obituary

Carol Jones Rowland, 80, of Dudley, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 16, 2026, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, Georgia. She was born on June 10, 1946, in Miami, Florida, to the late Lewis A. Jones and Robbie Wall Jones.

Carol was a dedicated and hardworking bookkeeper at Dexter Supply Company for 42 years, where she was known for her dependability and commitment to her work.

Above all, Carol was a devoted Christian whose faith was an important part of her life. She was a faithful member of Little Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, where she shared her love of music by playing the piano. She was also a valuable member of the Ladies Sunshine Club. Carol treasured her church family and the fellowship and friendships that came from serving alongside others.

Outside of work and church, Carol found joy in the simple things in life. She loved gardening and could often be found cutting grass, taking pride in caring for her home and yard. More than anything, Carol had a special gift for making people feel loved, welcomed, and important. She had a way of making everyone around her feel special, and her kindness, warmth, and genuine love for others will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband J.W. "Bo" Rowland, brother Larry A. Jones, and son Ronnie Lee Rowland. She is survived by her daughter Sherrie Crooms and her husband Terry of Dudley, Georgia; her son Mark Rowland and his wife Melessia of Dalton, Georgia; her sisters Elaine Barrs, Alice Taylor, Virginia Percival (Mickey); and her brother Tony (Becky).  Carol was a cherished grandmother to Melanie Bailey and her husband, Adam of Dudley, Georgia; Megan Gurr and her husband, Keith of Danville, Georgia; Mac Rowland and his wife, Aaron of Woodbury, Tennessee; Micah Rowland and his wife Sarah Grace of Dalton, Georgia; and Bo Rowland of Dalton, Georgia. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Kasen Gurr, Kyler Gurr, Addison Bailey, Lane Bailey, Kolten Rowland, Kaine Rowland, and Kamden Rowland.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Little Bethel Free Will Baptist Church in Rebie, Georgia. The family will greet friends before the service at 10:00 am. The burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens in Dublin, Georgia. Reverend Buddy Horne will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Mac Rowland, Bo Rowland, Ricky Hobbs, Jeffrey Hobbs, David Wyatt, Brian Wyatt, Kasen Gurr, and Kyler Gurr.

The family may be contacted at the home of Sherrie and Terry Crooms, 2526 Lord Road in Dudley, Georgia.
