Obituary

Caroline M. Traylor, age 93, of Dublin, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

Born September 18, 1929, in Hawkinsville, Georgia to Troy Jackson McDaniel and Rose Marie Price McDaniel, she lived in Dublin, Georgia most of her life.  Caroline attended Georgia State College for Women (now Georgia College and State University) and also attended summer classes at Georgia Teachers College (now Georgia Southern University).  She also completed a four-year course in Education for Ministry from the University of the South-St. Luke's Seminary, Suwanee, Tennessee.  Mrs. Traylor taught school in the Treutlen County school system (Wilkes School), Cochran City School System, and Laurens County School System.  She was a volunteer with the Carl Vinson VA Hospital as a Red Cross Gray Lady, Red Cross Blood Mobile, and a bible study guide with the Christian Women's Club.

Caroline served her Lord in many ways and was baptized in the Baptist faith and later confirmed in the Episcopal Church.  She was comfortable worshiping in any denomination, group, or situation.  She taught Sunday school, served on and was an instructor for Altar Guild, and served in the Daughter's of the King.  She was president of the Episcopal Church Women's Club and represented Christ Church several times at diocesan conventions.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Marie McDaniel; brothers, Jack McDaniel and William McDaniel; husband Charles Traylor, and family friend Will (Pappy) Blackshear.

She is survived by her sister, Marian (Totsy) Williams; children, Marie Almeter (Dan), Charles W. Traylor (Cammie), Cris Yates (Dent), and John Traylor (Wendy).  She is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Michael Almeter (Holly), Phillip Almeter (Heidi), Clare Barrs (Ben), Patrick Almeter (Katharine), Rose Dominey (Stephen), Theresa Tynan (Joel), Julie Olivas (JP), Carlie Traylor, Harrison Yates (Katie), Lauren Hutcheson (Lee), Molly Traylor, John David Traylor, and William Traylor, and many great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be Friday, July 14th at 1:30 pm in Walke Parish Hall at Christ Episcopal Church with the service following in the sanctuary at 3:00.  Graveside service will follow at Northview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John David Traylor, Michael Almeter, Ben Barrs, Stephen Dominey, Philip Almeter, and Harrison Yates.
