Carolyn Kersey Bowen, age 89, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023.

Mrs. Bowen was born January 29, 1934 in Dublin, Georgia to the late Henry Kersey and late Annie Davis Kersey. She was retired as an operator for AT&T for many years. She was a founding member of East Dublin Baptist Church. She was known for her famous cross-stitch pins that she would make by hand and give out in the community. She was a loving mother, Mema, sister, and friend.

In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her husband, Melvin Ray Bowen; sisters, Elenor (Ed) Thomason and Iris (Ethan) Dixon; sister-in-law, Sylvia Kersey; and brother-in-law, Dale Campbell.

Survivors include her children, Joann (Wayne) Starley, Steve (Wanda) Bowen, and Melba (Phil) Whittington; brother, Edward "Bud" Kersey; sister, Susie Campbell; grandchildren, Brooke (Chris) Dowling, Daniel (Jodi) Knight, Vanessa (Stephen) Smith, Jacob (Kelli) Whittington, Jessica (Jamie) Williams, Blaine (Dana) Oxford, and Kenya Oxford; as well as several great grandchildren, great-greatgrandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Northview Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Rhodes will officiate.
