Virginia Carolyn Spivey, age 71, of Dublin, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017. Mrs. Spivey was born in Laurens County on October 26, 1945 to the late Perry Clyde and Annie L. Williams Mullis. She was a former employee of the Medical Center in Dublin and later retired from the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. Mrs. Spivey was an active member of the Resurrection Assembly of God and loved her church family. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and crossword puzzles. She was a devoted wife, and loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren deeply. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Mullis. She is survived by her loving husband, Rev. Hugh Spivey, of Dublin; son, Tim Spivey (Pam), of Dublin; daughter, Tammy Morrison (John), of Adrian; granddaughter, Haleigh Spivey, of Dublin; grandson, Luke Spivey, of Dublin; great-granddaughters, Brayleigh and Hynleigh Edmond, both of Dublin; sister, Grace Autry (Terry), of East Dublin, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Resurrection Assembly of God. Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Miller and Rev. Jimmy Sumner will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00PM until funeral hour at the church. Pallbearers will be Ricky West, Don Belflower, Doyle Tanner, Wayne Williams, Elmer Williams, and Mickel Humphrey.
