Obituary

Services for Carrie Bell Foskey of Dublin, will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Union Baptist Church. Rev. Keith Smith and Rev. Dahl McDermitt will officiate. Burial will follow in Minter Cemetery. Mrs. Foskey was born in Cedar Grove. She was the daughter of the late Willie O. Shannon and the late Mary Will Martin Shannon. Mrs. Foskey was a talented piano player who played for various churches and gospel singing conventions. She also played piano for the Shannon Sisters and the Shannon Family. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and was retired from Forstmann. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ovid Foskey, brothers, Robert Shannon, John B. (Mary Jo) Shannon, sisters, Mavis (Hugh) Wood, Anne (Herbert) Sheppard, Nina Lake. Survivors include her children, Reece (Debie) Foskey, Johnny (Pam) Foskey, Nelda (Mark) Owens, grandchildren, Brian Owens, Hollie (Michael) Williams, Robby (Priscilla) Foskey, Heath (Jessica) Foskey, Cory Foskey, Matt Foskey, great grandchildren Leah and Will Foskey, Cameron and Allison Williams, Baylee and Maggie Foskey, all of Dublin, siblings, Louise (Ullis) Foskey, Charles Shannon, Oscar (Venaree) Shannon, Love (Jim) Necessary, Gamble (Phyllis) Shannon, sister in law, Christine Shannon, brother in law, Emmett Lake and numerous other relatives. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
