Cecil Williams, 80, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 13, 2017. A standout basketball star at Rentz High School in Rentz, Georgia, Cecil turned down a basketball scholarship to serve in the United States Army. He later received an Associate's Degree in Accounting from Augusta Technical College and continued working in federal civil service for many years.

He was a huge music fan and his love of business, music, and people led him into the entertainment industry, where he had many good times and made many great friends. He was an avid sports fan and loved teaching his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren the value of physical fitness and sports as well as the value of hard work and an education. He loved and was loved by his family.

Cecil is survived by his former wife, Lorene Williams of Macon, GA; three daughters, Cecilia Williams (Steve Hudson) of Macon, Patti Rittling (Jon) of Richmond, VA, Angie Sutton (Brad) of Culloden; two grandchildren, Lauren Smith and Haley Sutton; three great grandchildren, Makayla Smith, Jacob Sutton, Samantha Riley; one brother, one sister, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Pennie Williams, as well as three sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 19, 2017 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dublin, GA. The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm with the service beginning at 2:00. A burial will follow at Gay Cemetery.

In Cecil's memory, donations may be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation, Anchor of Hope Foundation, or the Central Georgia Autism Foundation.
