Services for Celestine B. Dean, age 81, of Dublin will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Poplar Springs North Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Dr. Joe Slocum and Joseph White will officiate. Mrs. Dean passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Mrs. Dean was the daughter of the late Arthur W. and Nancy Lord Barfoot. She was a homemaker and member of Poplar Springs North Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lucy Collins and four brothers, Fisher Barfoot, Robert Barfoot, Jack Barfoot and Cecil Barfoot. She is survived by her husband, Wallace Dean of Dublin; children, Melinda (Thomas) Sewell, David (Cathy) Dean, Rob (Mylynda) Dean, Jeff (Lisa) Dean and Carol (Jeff) White, all of Dublin; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brothers, Clifford (Elsie) Barfoot of Dublin and Bernard (Annette) Barfoot of Milledgeville; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Barfoot, Kate Barfoot and Orgenola Barfoot, all of Dublin and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Matt Lybrand, Marty Lybrand, Cory Dean, Brandon Dean, J.T. Dean, Jacob Dean, Daniel White and Joseph White. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Poplar Springs North Baptist Church.
