Funeral services for Chandler Maurice Beasley, Sr., 92, of Dublin, GA, will be held at Pine Forest United Methodist Church at 3:00PM on Tuesday, January 12, 2016. The Rev. Wes Moye, Rev. Joel Dent, and Rev. Sam Scaggs will officiate. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Mr. Beasley died on January 9, 2016, at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center after an extended illness.

Mr. Beasley was born on December 6, 1923, in Dublin, GA to Sylvester Fred and Lilly H. Beasley. He graduated from Dublin High School where he played football. He supported the Dublin Irish and all the other area teams with his faithful attendance through the 2015 season. Mr. Beasley was a veteran of WWII where he served in the VNF 542 Marine Fighter Squadron. He also served and retired from the Georgia National Guard with the rank of Sergeant Major. Mr. Beasley retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier in Dexter, GA. He was also an avid outdoorsman and was well known for his preparation of wild game dinners. Before and while he was a resident at the VA Medical Center, he enjoyed gardening and sharing his produce with others.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Beasley was predeceased by his loving wife, Bettye Scott Beasley, a son, Daniel Moody Beasley, one brother, J.W. Beasley and five sisters, Estelle B. White, Dessie B. Horton, Pauline B. Brantley, Juanita B. Palmer, and Marjorie B. Rose.

Mr. Beasley is survived by three sons, F. Scott Beasley (Lynn), of Dublin, GA, Chandler M. Beasley, Jr., of Jefferson, GA, Rev. William C. Beasley (Jacki), of Valdosta, GA, daughter-in-law, Rosemay H. Beasley, of Griffin, GA and devoted nephew, Mike Brantley (Wanda), of Dublin. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Laura B. Miller (Rob), and Ginny B. Polhill (David), of Dublin, C. Maurice Beasley, III (Misty), of Glennwood, GA, Gina Dee Barker (Michael) of Jefferson, GA, Bartley H. Beasley and Blair A. Beasley of Savannah, GA, Brett C. Beasley of Atlanta, Ryan W. Beasley of Valdosta, GA, and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on Monday, January 11, 2016 from 5:00PM until 7:30PM.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Maury Beasley, Bart Beasley, Blair Beasley, Brett Beasley, Ryan Beasley, and Rob Miller, David Polhill, and Michael Barker.
