Charles E. Ward, age 91, of Dublin, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016. Services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Kelly Maddox will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until funeral hour at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Justin Veal, Melvin Veal, Joe Belcher, Abner Belcher, Brett Ragan and Mike Kilgore. Mr. Ward was of the Baptist faith and a Veteran of the United States Navy and Coast Guard. He was the son of the late Matthew C. Ward and the late Julia Davis Ward. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Bass Ward; sisters, Jennie Pate Ward, Audie Mae Kilgore and Evelyn Rogers and brothers, Carlton Ward, Douglas Ward, Julian Ward and Oscar Ward. He is survived by his sister Mildred Hart of Dublin and several nieces and nephews.
