Obituary

Services for Charles E. Williams, age 75, of East Dublin, will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, October 6, 2012 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Snow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Dahl McDermitt and Rev. Curtis Warnock will officiate. He passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Serenity Place. Mr. Williams was a member of Pine Hill Holiness Church where he was the assistant pastor. He officiated for the Laurens Country Recreation Department for over 20 years and was a self-employed carpenter. Mr. Williams also worked for the East Dublin Police Department in the 1970's. He loved life, but most of all, he enjoyed being around family. His great-grandchildren brought much joy to his life. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil T. and Lillie Pearl Parrish Williams; wife, Grace Warnock Williams and two brothers, Burtis Williams and Albert Williams. He is survived by two daughters, Kneece Carter and Dawn McDermitt, both of East Dublin; son, Cobbie Williams of Love Joy; four granddaughters, Lana (Blair) Rogers of Dudley, Heather (Allan) Holloway of Meeks, Hillarie Hartley of Soperton and Charitie Williams of Converse, LA; grandson, Gene (Amanda) Carter of Dublin; four great-granddaughters, Kiersten Rogers of Dudley, Kassidie Lovett of East Dublin, Mickenzie Holloway and Ailey Holloway both of Meeks; great-grandson, Gage Holloway of Meeks; two sisters, Eudell Hester of Macon and Faye (Art) Johns of East Dublin and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Gene Carter, Blair Rogers, Tyler Long, James Williams, Scott McDermitt and Ashley Warnock. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
