Christine Rowland Hobbs passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Serenity Place surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Hobbs was born January 9, 1934, to the late Carlton and Alice Rowland.  After high school, she worked various jobs before marrying her husband, Argene Hobbs. They were married 43 years at the time of his death. She decided to become a stay at home mom and raise her sons. Her last employment was part-time with the Georgia Department of Agriculture. She was also the proud "Amma" to grandsons, Dustin, Dawson, and Daniel Hobbs. Christine was a member of the Dexter Assembly of God and loved her church family. She also cherished her good friends Patricia Johnson, Donna Darsey Smith, and Melba Whittington.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, J.W. Rowland, and sisters, Doris Hester, and Syble Garrett.

She is survived by sons, Jeffrey Hobbs, and Ricky Hobbs (Shannon), both of Dexter; grandsons, Dustin, Dawson, and Daniel Hobbs, all of Dexter; sister-in-law, Carol Rowland, of Dudley, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 1, 2021, at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Pastors Stephen Beck and Larry Waldrep will officiate. The services will also be live-streamed on the Townsend Brothers Funeral Home Facebook page.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dexter Assembly of God Building Fund or Serenity Hospice in her memory.
