Obituary

A memorial service for Clayton Warnock, age 81 of Dublin, will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Jefferson Street Baptist Church. Pastors Steve Hardeman, Walter Martin and Chase Granstaff will officiate. Mr. Warnock and his wife Josephine Whistler Warnock, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013, in a tragic automobile accident. Mr. Warnock was born in Laurens County. He was the son of the late Henry Warnock and the late Susie Bell Wood Warnock. Mr. Warnock was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, was a member of the Dublin Church of God, and was retired from Victor Forstmann. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Warnock, brother, Lester Warnock, sisters, Iva Lee Stewart, Loney Pope, Ruby Drew, and Nellie Lovett. Survivors include his sons, Kenneth ( Beth) Warnock of East Dublin, Danny (Marnie) Warnock of Dublin, Lynn (Amy) Warnock of East Dublin, step daughters, Georgia (Larry) Jeffcoat of Dublin, Rebecca (Russell) Barr of Griffin, Catherine (Lee) Baggett of Dudley, grandchildren – Kristina (Chase) Granstaff , Jordan Warnock, Deidre Warnock, Josh (Sarah)Warnock, Katie Sutton, Kamdyn Warnock, Step grandchildren, Ashley (Derrick) Shepherd of Dublin, Zachary (Heidi) Rios, Noah Rios, Thomas Barr, Victoria Barr, James Baggett, Timothy Baggett and Aaron Baggett . The family will be at the Warnock Home, 123 Whippoorwill Way and will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Mary Jane Spivey, 216 Waverly Drive, Dublin, GA 31021. Pastors Steve Hardeman, Walter Martin, and Chase Granstaff will officiate. Mrs. Warnock and her husband, Clayton Warnock, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 in a tragic automobile accident. Mrs. Warnock was born in Houston, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Elbert Whistler and the late Ruth "Cuca" Ramirez Whistler. Mrs. Warnock was a member of the Church of God and formerly a long term member of Cornerstone Assembly of God, where she served on the church board. She also was a Deacon, Trustee, Sunday School teacher, Vice President of the Women's Ministries and served on several other church committees. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Allen, and brother, Earnest Whistler. Survivors include her daughters, Georgia (Larry) Jeffcoat of Dublin, Rebecca (Russell) Barr of Griffin, Catherine (Lee) Baggett of Dudley, step sons, Kenneth (Beth) Warnock of East Dublin, Danny (Marnie) Warnock of Dublin, Lynn (Amy) Warnock of East Dublin, grandchildren Ashley (Derrick) Shepherd, Zachary (Heidi) Rios, Noah Rios, Thomas Barr, Victoria Barr, James Baggett, Timothy Baggett, Aaron Baggett, great grandson, Colton Zachary Rios, step grandchildren, Kristina (Chase) Granstaff, Jordan Warnock, Deidre Warnock, Josh (Sarah) Warnock, Katie Sutton, Kamdyn Warnock, and siblings, Carolyn Doughtie, MaryAnn Seher, Lydia Ruth Brown, Eva DeCuir, Susan Mingee, Henry Whistler, Bonnie Davidson, Samuel Whistler, Judith Barnes. The family will be at the Warnock Home, 123 Whippoorwill Way and will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
