Obituary

Mr. Clinton Matthew Ellison, age 88, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022 following a brief illness.

Mr. Ellison was born March 21, 1933 in Carrollton, Georgia; he was preceded in death by his parents, the late Rev. & Mrs. T.F. Ellison (former pastor of Dublin First Church of the Nazarene), a grandson, Chris Thompson, a great-great-grandson, Drake Tamaski; a great-granddaughter, Destiny Johnston; a brother, Lamar Ellison and two sisters, Louise Poole and Barbara Baugh. He was a member of the Dublin First Church of the Nazarene, where he had served as a board member. He was retired from Dublin Ford where he worked for many years as a car salesman. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed photography so much that later in life, he worked toward and received a certificate in photography from Macon Jr. College. He loved the Atlanta Braves, the Georgia Bulldogs, telling jokes and singing in the choir but his greatest loves in life were his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his wife, his family and his church family.

He is survived by his wife, Eulaine Ellison of Dublin; three children, Debbie (Kin) Clark, Tina Hingst and Candy (Jay) Freshour all of Dublin; 11 grandchildren, Michael (Kathryn) Thompson, Dana (Clay) Hall, Grant (Samantha) Hingst, Brandi Clark, Mike Clark, Hannah (Brittain) Hingst, Matt (Jami) Simpson, Jonna (Brad) Portwood, April (Shawn) Wood, Amelia (Josh) Contreras, Lauren (Heath) Criswell; 13 great-grandchildren, Shea (Kane) Tamaski, Dylan Thompson, Ryan Thompson, Garrett Edger, Leah Hall, Kinsley Hall, Amanda Simpson, Ethan (Emily) Wood, David Wood, Shawna Wood, Alaina Portwood, David Clark and Halie Clark, Raigan Haynes, Jensen Hingst, Caden Clark, Kaytlynn Williams, Abby Contreras, Leighann Johnston, Serenity Johnston, Jonathon Burge, Jacob Burge, Winter Criswell and Carlie Criswell; a great-great-grandchild, Bradley Dean Contreras; three sisters, Sandra Cawthon, Glenda (Tommy) McKelvey and Mary Layfield and a brother, Sam (Terry) Ellison. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 28, 2022 at the First Church of the Nazarene with burial to follow at Northview Cemetery. Rev. Don Hicks and Rev. Myron Wise will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 Monday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Michael Thompson, Clifford Garnto, Ethan Wood, Brad Poucher, Grant Hingst and Davy Price, Dylan Thompson will serve as an honorary escort.
