Obituary

Mrs. Clyde P. Dean, 88, of Dublin, passed away Monday, November 24, 2014, at the Greenwood Place in Wrightsville. Services will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday, November 26, 2014, in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Wayne Durden and Rev. Keith Hall will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Dean was born on September 28, 1926, the daughter of the late Lucien M. Padgett and the late Annie Mae Couey Padgett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dewell H. Dean, sisters, Lucille Maynard and Mattie Moorman, and a brother, Wade Padgett. Mrs. Dean was a charter member of Pinehurst Drive Baptist Church. She attended Berry College in Rome, GA. She was a member of the Laurens County Home Demonstration Club, member of Woodman of the World, and an avid gardener. Mrs. Dean was retired from Sears. She is survived by her two sons, Dewell Elton Dean (Carolyn), of Dublin and Larry Dean (Javonne), of Dublin, daughter, Cheryl Veal (Robert), of Wrightsville, brother, William E. Padgett of Dublin, grandchildren, Holly Roberson (Shane), Hope Stevens (David), Daniel Dean (Lauren), Patrick Dean, Deana Veal, Rob Veal, B.J. Turner (Rachel) and Josh Shepard, eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mike Couey, Mark Padgett, Larry Knight, Morris Mackey, Wesley Couey, Fred Weaver, George Bassett, and Scott Knight will serve as pallbearers. The family will be at Mrs. Dean's home place, 799 Old Toomsboro Rd.
