Curtis Edwards, Sr., age 89 of Dublin, passed away on Tuesday, September 01, 2015.
Services will be held at 10:30AM on Friday, September 4, 2015 in the Chapel of Jefferson Street Baptist Church with burial to follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Darren Talley and Rev. Al O'Quinn will officiate.
Justin Wyatt, Ted Jarrell, Benard King, Wiley Stuckey, Collins Cook, Glynn Mullis, Edsel Padgett, Johnnie Wilson, Darrell Holliday and Frankie Bracewell will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
Mr. Edwards was born in Laurens County to the late Jesse and Mattie Hartley Edwards. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and retired from Mohawk Industries. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and a deacon at Jefferson Street Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Garner Edwards and brothers, Perry Edwards, Ralph Edwards, Colon Edwards, B.W. Edwards, Hubert Edwards and Bobby Edwards.
Survivors include his daughter, Debra (Al) O'Quinn of McDonough; sons, Stephen (Terry) Edwards of Jackson and Curtis (Jennifer) Edwards, Jr. of Dublin; grandchildren, Matthew O'Quinn, Laura Bone, Lorette Edwards, Kennith Edwards, J.D. Edwards and Jenna Edwards as well as several nieces and nephews.
