Cynthia Ann Thomas, age 61, of Dexter, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021.

Cindi was born on September 5, 1959, in Laurens County. She was a member of the Dexter Assembly of God and truly had a servant's heart. She had the gift of hospitality and adored h er family, especially her grandkids.  She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Smith, and nephew, Kaleb Amerson.

Survivors include her husband Hershel "Gene" Thomas, of Dexter; son, Richard Thomas  (Joy), of Dexter; grandchildren, Connor Thomas (Caylyn), William Thomas, and Addison Thomas, all of Dexter; mother, Patsy Smith, of Dexter; siblings, Mike Smith (Diane), and Susan Amerson (Andy), both of Cedar Grove, and Randy Smith, of Dexter; sister-in-law, Margaret Pippin, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Brad Nowell will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 AM until the service hour at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
