Danny Eugene Russell, Sr., age 49 of Blackshear, GA, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. Services will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, February 9, 2015 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Rev. Johnny Autry and Rev. Jason Patterson will officiate. Mr. Russell was s Veteran of the United States Marines Corps and a member of Mountain City Baptist Church. He was a security guard with the State of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Carol Eugene Russell,a sister, Susan Jennifer Swartz; paternal grandparents, Robert and Gladys Russell and maternal grandparents, Fluker and Susie Etheridge. Survivors include his wife, Tammy Russell of Mountain City, TN; daughters, Jackie Russell and Dallas Russell, both of Savannah; sons, Danny Russell, Jr., and Lorenzo Valdez, both of Savannah; mother, Lille Mae Russell of Dublin; sister, Laura Denise (William) Robinson of Blackshear and Heather Childers of TX; brother, Julian Russell of Blackshear; grandchild, Dominic Myers of Savannah; best friend, John Elrod of NC and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Pallbearers will be Danny Russell, Jr., Seth Myers, John Elrod, Jimmy Greenway, Julian Russell, and Duane Usry. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 8, 2015 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM.
