Services for Darla June Knight, age 49 of East Dublin, will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Bluewater Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Curtis Warnock and Rev. Janice Laster will officiate. Mrs. Knight was a homemaker but had worked for many years as a secretary for attorneys Scott Thompson and Mitch Warnock. She married her husband, Joseph Knight, in May 1982 and they shared a wonderful 30 years together. Darla was blessed with one daughter, Melissa, with whom she shared a close and loving relationship. Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her mother, Linda C. Walker; sister, Donna M. Barron; grandmother, Pearl Smith; two grandfathers, Willie Rance Smith and James T. Walker; mother-in-law, Eva Knight and father-in-law, O.J. Knight. She died Sunday, February 5, 2012. Survivors include her husband, Joseph Knight of East Dublin; daughter, Melissa Wood of East Dublin; father, James Howard Walker; two grandmothers, Beulah Walker and Ellen Smith, both of Dublin; two grandsons, Nathaniel "Nate" Barron and Cayson Rainey both of Dublin; brother & sister-in-law, Greg (Becky) Walker of Rentz; brother-in-law, Kenneth Knight of East Dublin; sister-in-law, Marcell Knight of East Dublin; god-parents, Billy (Loree) Beacham of Dublin; three nephews, Daniel (Jodi) Knight of East Dublin, Keith Knight of Columbus and Christopher Barron of Dublin; four nieces, Kristy (Eric) Shepard of Dudley, Haley Walker of Rentz, Melinda Joiner of East Dublin and Jennifer Churchwell of Dublin; several great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Pallbearers will be Aaron Ellis, Daniel Knight, Spencer Smith, Joey Warnock, Al Warnock and Keith Knight. Honorary Pallbearers will be Scott Thompson, Mitch Warnock, Doug Ellis, Billy Beacham and Preston Walker. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
