Services for Marshal Darsey, age 71, of Dublin, will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Pine Forest United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Steve Patton and Rev. Sam Vernon will officiate.
Mr. Darsey was born in Dublin. He was the son of the late William Arthur Darsey and the late Ethel Elizabeth Garner Darsey. Mr. Darsey served in the US Air Force, he was retired from the US Postal Service, was a part-time employee of the Riverview Golf Course, and was an active member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church where he was a member of the CIA Sunday School Class and previously held various leadership offices and presently served on the Leadership Forum and Missions Committee. He loved to cook, play Golf and be with the people he loved. Mr. Darsey died Friday, December 23, 2011.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Willie Belle Darsey.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Darsey of Dublin, daughters; Celeste (Sam) Vernon of Waynesboro, Lynn (Mike) Roberts of Charleston, SC, grandsons, Rhett Vernon, Mitchell Vernon, Chase Roberts and Cody Roberts, brother, Wilbur Darsey of Soldontna, Alaska, and nieces and nephews.
Howard Darsey, Earl Morgan, Ronnie Wilkes, Ray Jones, Gregg Shepard and Charles Allen will serve as pallbearers.
