David "Hal" Dixon, Sr., age 82 of Dublin, passed away on Wednesday, August 05, 2015. Graveside services will be at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 8, 2015 in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Sam Loyd will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Dixon was a veteran of the United States Army, serving with the 882nd Engineering Battalion during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Oxford Industries for 22 years and later retired with Life of Georgia Insurance Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, David W. and Gladys Horne Dixon and sisters, Helen Griffin and Jane Logue. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Marion Coleman Dixon of Dublin; sons, David H. Dixon, Jr. (Lynne) of Waynesboro, VA and Robert A. "Bob" Dixon (Jennifer) of East Dublin; daughter, Karyn Mickle (Phillip) of Dublin; granddaughters, Megan Dixon of Staunton, VA, and Kara and Samantha Dixon, both of Waynesboro, VA; sister, Gwen Newton of Dublin; brothers, Doyle Dixon (Faye) and Kyle Dixon (Patsy), all of Dudley and several nieces and a nephew.
