Services for Debbie Wood, age 59 of Dexter, will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 26, 2013 at Rentz Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Rentz City Cemetery. Rev. Tom Vann will officiate. Mrs. Wood died Friday, August 23, 2013. Mrs. Wood was the daughter of the late Merle Douglas Ashmore and the late Mary Jo Ellis Ashmore. She retired from Progressive Rural Telephone Company in Rentz and was a member of Rentz Baptist Church. Mrs. Wood was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Ira E. "Buddy" Wood, Jr., children, Anthony Wood, Nikki (Jamie) Warnock, grandsons, Drake and Austin Wood, and Kyle Warnock, all of Dexter; sisters and brothers, Shelly Johnson, of Auburndale, FL, Doug (Teresa) Ashmore, of Melbourne, FL, Connie (Nick) Provenzano, of Palm Bay, FL, Gary (Debbie) Ashmore, of Robertsdale, AL, Ann (Mike) Morton, of Rentz, Shirleen (Jerry) Davidson, of Dexter; and several nieces and nephews. Jason Lumley, Kris Carr, Jason Garner, James Wood, Nathan Morton, Thad Morton, and David Morton will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home Sunday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
