Delamar Giddens, age 83, of Dexter, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2016.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at New Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Grady Mimbs and Rev. Ken Rodgers will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until funeral hour at the church.

Mr. Giddens was born in Dodge County to the late William and Clara Mae Giddens. He retired from JP Stevens & Co. after 30 years of dedicated service and was a former member of New Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Grace Register Giddens; sisters, Doris Burdett, Melba Coker, Gladys Cloud, Janelle Dominy and Johnny Striplin and brothers, Blanton Giddens and Donald Giddens

He is survived by a step-son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Teresa Wright, of Sylvania; daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Phillip Herrin, of Dublin; sisters, Clarice Sheehan and Myrtle Tyson, both of Macon; brother, Marvin Giddens, of Eastman; 5 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Pallbearers will be William Morgan, Steven Woodard, Tommy Giddens, Anthony Herrin, Brad Wright and Gavin Herrin. The family may be contacted at the home of Delamar Giddens.
