Services for Dessie Henry McCoy, age 78, of Glenwood, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 1, 2015, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Jones & McCoy Family Cemetery. Rev. Ben Edwards will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. McCoy died Sunday, June 28, 2015. Mr. McCoy, a U.S. Army veteran and retired farmer, was a member of Olivet Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and helping veterans. Mr. McCoy was preceded in death by his parents, William and Victoria Maxie McCoy. Survivors include his wife, Lynett McCoy, of Glenwood; children, Annie O'Quinn, of Tifton, Penny (Joe) Pike, of Minter, Perry McCoy, of Glenwood, Jenny McCoy, of Minter, Kandy (David) Jones, of Rockledge, Peggy (Robert) Henriksen, of East Dublin; twelve grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. Dee Cullens, Debo Cullens, Brian Mallette, Maury Beasly, Mark Harden, and Franklin Stinson, will serve as pallbearers.
