Services for Dewey Doyace Sapp, age 81, of Dublin, will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 8, 2015, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Tommy Pulliam will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM. Mr. Sapp died Sunday, July 5, 2015. Mr. Sapp, a lifelong resident of Laurens County, was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired mail carrier. Mr. Sapp was preceded in death by his parents, Hilliard W. and Daisy Couey Sapp; son, Doyace Sapp; sister, Jeannette S. Paul; and brother, Willis Sapp. Survivors include his wife, Gena Stewart Sapp, of East Dublin; children, Stacey (Holly) Sapp, Chad (Shana) Sapp, both of Dublin, Joel (Joanna) Sapp, of Lexington, SC, Lynn (Ben) Brantley, of Dublin Rhonda (Bobby) Wood, of Cadwell; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Luther) Hooks, and Ruby Watson, both of Dublin. Eric Shepard, Matt Shepard, Scott Shepard, Josh Dykes, Mark Ward, and Blake Ward will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the F. A. Josey Sunday School Class of Bethlehem Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Serenity Hospice, 520 Hillcrest Parkway, Dublin, GA 31021.
