Funeral services for Dollie Barbee Dominy, age 87, will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, October 4.2010, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with burial to follow at Northview Cemetery. Dr. Glenn Langner will officiate. Mrs. Dominy died Saturday, October 2, 2010. Mrs. Dominy was a native of Laurens County, but had lived the past eight years at Antebellum Grove, an assisted living facility in Warner Robins. She was the daughter of the late R. L. Lee Barbee and the late Mary Ella Cochran Barbee. She was retired from Dunns Department Store. Mrs. Dominy was a member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church where she lovingly taught the five year old Sunday School class for many years. Neighbors knew her as the lady who loved to work in the yard. She was the devoted wife of Mett Carlos Dominy for fifty-four years, a loving mother, and caregiver of other people. Mrs. Dominy was preceded in death by her husband Mett Carlos Dominy, son, Mett Carlos Dominy, Jr., and brothers, George Barbee, and Willie Lee Barbee. She is survived by daughter, Gail (Jimmy) Coleman, of Dublin, daughter-in-law, Lana Dominy, of Warner Robins; grandsons, Randall (Mary Leigh) Coleman, Charles (Debbie) Coleman, both of Dublin, Mett Carlos Trae ( Sandy) Dominy, III, of Bryon, Corbett Dominy, of Warner Robins; great grandchildren Elizabeth Holmes, Andy, Matt, David, and Jim Coleman, Dean Yeomans, Grace and Carlyn Dominy; brothers, Clyde (Connie) Barbee of Dublin, Grady (Janie) Barbee of Jacksonville, Rufus (Mary) Barbee of Dublin, and Steve (Jessie) Barbee, of Dublin. Randall Coleman, Charles Coleman, Paul Barbee, Ricky Barbee, Andy Coleman and Matt Coleman will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 2:00PM on Monday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
