Services for Dora Maddox Moore, age 89 of Dexter, will be held Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Rev. Jay Moore will officiate. Mrs. Moore was born in Laurens County to the late John Howard Maddox and the late Fannie Smith Maddox. She was a member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church and was a former employee of J.C. Penney. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Bunyan Moore; son, Clifton Moore, Jr., and eight brothers and sisters. Mrs. Moore passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Nannette (Billy) Dominy of Dexter; two sisters, Kathleen Taylor of Greenville, SC and Louise M. Sapp of Snellville, GA; grandson, Bill Dominy of Warwick, GA; granddaughter, Renee (Jeff) Clayton of Dublin, GA; six great grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Moore's grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
