Services for Doris Ethridge McGowan, age 79 of Leesburg, will be held at 3:30 PM Tuesday, January 28, 2014, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Northview Cemetery. Rev. Jody Martin will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:30 PM until 3:30 PM. Mrs. McGowan died Saturday, January 25, 2014. Mrs. McGowan was preceded in death by her husband, James N. McGowan, and parents, William Ethridge and Victoria Radford Ethridge. Survivors include her children, Ronald (Jackie) McGowan, of Dublin, Vicki McGowan (Mark) Reynolds, of Spring Hill, TN, Teresa McGowan (David) Holley, of Leesburg; grandchildren, Ron McGowan, Tyler Reynolds, Kellie Johns, Erica Purvis; seven great grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Gay. Ron McGowan, David Gay, Barry Gay, Gregory Johnson, Raylon Johnson, and Correy Purvis will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Willson Hospice House.
