Services for Dorothy A. Lindsey, age 87, of Rentz, will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Rentz Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Rentz Cemetery. Rev. Tom Vann and Rev. Grady Mimbs will officiate. Mrs. Lindsey died Sunday, January 20, 2013. Mrs. Lindsey, born in Dexter, was a graduate of Dexter High School and attended Middle Georgia College. In her younger years, she worked at Woolworth as bookkeeper. Mrs. Lindsey was co-owner of Lindsey Hardware and a member of Rentz Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, General Lee Alligood and Hattie Ward Alligood, and brothers, Milton Alligood and Elton Alligood. Survivors include her husband, George B. Lindsey, Jr.; son, Randy W. Lindsey, both of Rentz; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and several close friends. Jimmy Arthur, Toby Alligood, Chan Alligood, Dustin Alligood, Quincey Newman, and Charles Buddy Rogers will serve as pallbearers. Jeff Handley, Earl Lord, Durrell Woodard, James Wood, Ed Woodard, D. M. Mullis, Dykes McCullough, Andy Sellers, Russell Lane, Edwin Alligood, Wayne Dixon, W. D. Goodrum, Clyde Joiner, Mark Joiner, M. L. Knight, and Sammy Martin will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
