Services for Dorothy R. Harrison, age 92, of Dublin, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Poplar Springs North Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Bethsaida Baptist Church Cemetery.  Rev. Robert Rogers. Rev. Garvin Dykes, and Rev. Lock Wilford will officiate.  The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 9:30 AM. Mrs. Harrison died Thursday, November 2, 2017.

Mrs. Harrison, born and raised in Laurens County, attended Tift College and was a teacher in Laurens County for thirty years.  She was an active member at Poplar Springs North Baptist Church where she served at Vacation Bible School principal, church librarian, and teacher for the Joy Sunday School Class for many years.

Mrs. Harrison enjoyed visiting shut-ins from the church and community.  She was involved with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Before her recent fall, she could be found on the front porch watching the hummingbirds and her family going to school and work.

Mrs. Harrison was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-nine years, Charles E. Harrison; parents, Rollin and Nannie Green Register; brothers, sisters, and several nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her children, Brenda H. Lord, and Ronnie (Donna) Harrison, both of Dublin; grandchildren, Jenny L. (Chad) Mosley, of Dudley, Laura E. (Steve) Vertin, and Kristi H. (Joey) Selph, both of Dublin; great grandchildren, Madison Mosley, Joshua Mosley, both of Dudley, Kaitlyn Vertin, Steven Vertin, Cody Selph, and Josie Selph, all of Dublin.

Josh Crawford, Archie Heath, Robert Miles, Lester Potts, Robert Harrison, and Derral Rooks will serve as pallbearers.

The members of the Joy Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
