Services for Rev. Douglas Guyton Jones, age 82 of Cedar Grove will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. W.L. Currie, Rev. Earl Miller and Rev. Joe Jones will officiate. Rev. Jones was the son of the late Otha G. Jones and the late Annie M. Fields Jones. He was born in Dodge, County GA, Lived in Ocoee, FL. for many years where he was a volunteer fireman. He was a deputy sheriff in Orange County FL. He worked for the Continental Can Company. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He was an U.S. Army Veteran and Baptist Minister. Rev. Jones died Sunday October 9, 2011. Survivors include his wife, Nina B Jones of Cedar Grove, two sons-Timothy (Tammy) Jones of Rentz, Michael (Sharon) Jones of Chester, two daughters, Sylvia Jones of Pasadena, CA and Nobie Jones of East Dublin, three brothers-Dewey Jones, Donald Jones and William Jones, five sisters-Rachel Collins, Barbara Daniels, Merrel Rowland, Fleeda Murkerson and Linda Jones, twelve grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a sister Mabel Dixon and grandson Douglas Wolff. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
