Services for Doyle W. Dixon, age 81, of Dudley will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 19, 2017, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Billy Daws will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM.

Mr. Dixon was born in Dudley and was the son of the late David W. Dixon and the late Gladys H. Dixon. He was a member of Dudley Church and was retired from Robins Air Force Base. He was a member of the National Guard. Doyle was a volunteer fireman, a city councilman for five years and served as city engineer for Dudley for twenty-three years and was an electrician.

Doyle was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was always helping others and visiting family and friends. Mr. Dixon passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were his sisters, Helen Griffin, Gwen Newton and, Jane Logue; brothers, Hal Dixon, and Kyle Dixon.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-eight years, Faye Brown Dixon, of Dudley, son, Michael Doyle (Gloria) Dixon, of Dublin, grandson, Joey Legg of Cochran, granddaughter, Jessica Pace, of Milledgeville, great grandchildren, Haley (Kasey) Jenna, Joanna, of Cochran, and great great grandchildren, Hannah and Jace, sister-in-laws, Sylvia Brown, of Dublin, Marion Dixon, of Scott, and Patsy Dixon, of Dudley, and several nieces and nephews.

Buddy Fordham, Bob Dixon, James Garrett, Bobby Allen, Glenn Allen, and Benny Davis will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Dudley Baptist Church, Dudley, GA 31022.
