Services for Duggan Dudley Weaver, age 95 of Dudley, will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Dudley Baptist Church. Dr. Billy Daws and Dr. Jack Key will officiate. Burial will follow in I.J. Duggan Cemetery in Dudley. He passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Mr. Weaver was born in Laurens County to the late James Jackson Weaver and the late Pauline Duggan Weaver. He graduated from Dublin High School, Mercer University and also attended Notre Dame. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving his country proudly during WWII. Mr. Weaver was a member of Dudley Baptist Church where he has served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He retired with over forty years as a State Farm Insurance Agent. He was a member of the Dublin Life Underwriters Association and the Masonic Lodge of Danville. He was also a member of the Gideons International, Lions Club and the Dublin-Laurens Library Board. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Bowles Weaver and a daughter, Ellen W. Ladue. Survivors include his son, Jerry Duggan (Kathy) Weaver of Stockbridge; grandsons, Leland Murray Weaver of Dudley and Patrick Duggan Ladue of Denver, CO; granddaughters, Amanda L. (Jason) Locke of Dudley and Kelly Love Weaver of Morrow; great-granddaughters, Jessica Lee Weaver, Ellie B. Locke, both of Dudley, Kora Tharpe of Morrow; great-grandson, Jackson Locke of Dudley and Isaiah Weaver of Morrow; son-in-law, Gary P. Ladue of Dudley and sisters, Martha W. Hickerson of Dudley and Sarah W. Malone of Dexter. Mr. Weaver's nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 29, 2013 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the Sheridan Living Center and Serenity Hospice for their support.
