Services for Earl Robert Bland, age 92, of East Dublin, will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Shady Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Kelly Maddox and Rev. Glen Jackson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Bland died Saturday, May 7, 2016.

Mr. Bland was a member and deacon of Shady Grove Baptist Church for many years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired from Laurens Park Mill. Mr. Bland was an avid woodworker.

Mr. Bland was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Helen Mason Bland.

Survivors include his wife, Mavis Bland, of East Dublin; sons, Ted (Iris) Bland, Ed Bland, Sr., both of East Dublin, Wayne (Connie) Bland, of Dublin, Kenneth (Gail) Bland, of East Dublin; grandchildren, Stacy and Keri Strickland, Ed, Jr. and Jimmie Sue Bland, Kristie and Stephen Browning, Kymberly and Nick Foster, Patrick Perry, Robbie Bland, Stephen and Leighann Perry, Kathy and Lee Waddell, Jodi and Daniel Knight, Eric and Natalie Bland; and numerous great grandchildren.

Ed Bland, Jr., Eric Bland, Robbie Bland, Patrick Perry, Stacy Strickland, Lee Waddell, Stephen Perry, Daniel Knight, Stephen Browning, and Nick Foster will serve as pallbearers.
