Obituary

Services for Earl Walter Farmer, Sr. age 70, of Dublin will be held Friday, February 8, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Chuck Bush and Rev. Ben Edwards will officiate. Mr. Farmer died Tuesday, February 05, 2013. Mr. Farmer, born in Rentz, was the son of the late Ernest Willie Farmer and the late Mildred Baggett Farmer. He served in the US Army. Mr. Farmer was a member and Deacon at Minter Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher. He also taught Sunday School for many years at Bethsaida Baptist Church. He was a retired superintendent of the Dublin Parks and Recreation Department and was one of the founding members of the Emerald City Officials Association. Mr. Farmer officiated at high school and recreational ball for thirty-five years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Farmer was predeceased by his sister, Annette Dominy. Survivors include his wife, Delorise W. Farmer; son, Earl Walter (Pamela D.) Farmer, Jr.; grandchildren, Brayton Smith, and Allison Caroline Farmer, all of Dublin; and brother, Owen Lamar Farmer, of Milledgeville. Michael Coleman, Steve Brown, Wayne Gay, Steve Jesup, Sid Jesup, and Louie Blue will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Minter Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
