Services for Earl Wesley Turner, Sr., age 80, of Dublin, will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Gibbs Family Cemetery in Uvalda. Reverend Jim Sowden will officiate. Mr. Turner was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a retired mechanic with H&W Tire Co. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Wesley Turner and Ola Browning Turner, and his wife, Grace Morris Turner. Mr. Turner passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. Survivors include his son, Earl Wesley (Jan) Turner, Jr., grandson, Earl Wesley Turner III of Lexington Park, MD; two granddaughters, Tabby (Glenn) Oliver and Cindy (Nick) Tidwell both of Dublin; ten great grandchildren; Caitlin and Tristan Turner, both of Brewton, AL; Adam, Halen and Chance Oliver, all of Dublin and Tyler, Kaleb, Luke, Bryson and Gabriel Tidwell, all of Dublin; sister, Carolyn (QA) Kight of Oak Park and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Glenn Oliver, Nick Tidwell, Randy Kight, Greg Kight, Halen Oliver, Tyler Tidwell and Kaleb Tidwell. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
