Obituary

Eddie Beacham, 88, of East Dublin, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Beacham was born in Laurens County on October 17, 1933, to the late Cleon H. and Julia Burris Beacham. He was a proud United States veteran; serving in the Army Reserves before being drafted four months later into the Army. After returning home from service, he married his sweetheart, Ora Thomas, in 1957, and they spent fifty-nine devoted years together before her death in 2016.

Eddie was a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he served in many capacities over the years. Some of his notable contributions to his church were serving as a Deacon, teaching Sunday School at the Cile Cook Home, and also as cemetery chairman, volunteering as a Morning Greeter, and as a member of the choir and FA Josey Sunday School Class.

Mr. Beacham retired from Forstman/J.P. Stevens and was also a farmer. He loved cutting his grass, fishing, and going to auctions. He was devoted to his church and his family and was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His infectious smile, quick wit, and laugh will be deeply missed by all who were privileged to know and love him.

In addition to his parents, and wife, Mr. Beacham was preceded in death by his siblings: Juanita Downs, Margaret Hayes, Wynonna Spivey, Bertha Minton, Clayton Beacham, and Hubert Beacham; grandson, Mickey Beacham, and great-great grandson, Drake Tamaski.
