Edward Doyle Mimbs, age 90, of East Dublin, passed away at his residence on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at his residence.

A native of Laurens County, Mr. Mimbs was the son of the late Tilman L. and Mattie Mimbs, Sr. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and retired from the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. He was a member of Brewton United Methodist Church, as well as the American Legion, Woodmen of the World, Scottish Rite, and was a Mason. Doyle was a devoted husband, and loving father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, T.L. Mimbs, Jr.; sister, Juanita Sewell, and son, Mickey Mimbs.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Mildred Andrews Mimbs, of East Dublin; daughter, Elaine Mimbs Hart (William), of East Dublin; daughter-in-law, Paula Mimbs Hooks (Danny), of East Dublin; grandchildren, Brian Mimbs, Brent Mimbs, Mic Mimbs, Dee Stripp (Cory), and Bruce Morgan (Holly), all of East Dublin; great-grandchildren, Vince Mimbs (Hannah), Jordan Mimbs, Blane Mimbs, Daden Mimbs, Morgan Mimbs, Taylor Mimbs, Ryan Mimbs, Kaden Mimbs, Chase Stripp, Blake Morgan (Brittany), and Erika Morgan (Matt Steptoe), all of East Dublin; and great-great-granddaughter, Gray Griffth, of East Dublin.

Services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Brewton United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Barbara Nelson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until funeral hour at the church on Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Brent Mimbs, Mic Mimbs, Bruce Morgan, Blake Morgan, Matt Steptoe, and Brian Mimbs.
