Obituary

Emily Killingsworth, age 83, of Dublin, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Emily was born on January 23, 1939, to the late William Horace and Alice Grant Standard. She was a graduate of Griffin High School and attended Middle Georgia College. Mrs. Killingsworth retired from the Community Mental Health Center of Middle Georgia. She was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church where she was an active member of the choir and was known for singing O, Holy Night.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Willis Standard, and sister, Margaret Ovbey.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Killingsworth of Dublin; daughter, Kaye Wilson (Bill) of Little Rock, AR; son, William David Killingsworth of Dublin; grandchildren, Lindsay Mattox (Trey), Kaily Colla (Michael), Hannah Surine (Matt), Sarah Killingsworth; great-grandchildren, Britton Mattox, Miller Kate Mattox, Evelyn Mattox, Grey Colla, Letti Colla, Stella Sheffield, Delaney Sheffield, M.J. Surine and Hadley Surine; brother, William "Bill" Horace Standard (Gloria) of Columbus, GA; sister, Eleanor Standard Lieberman of Cullowhee, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Mrs. Killingsworth will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Pine Forest United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Dr. Joel Dent and Rev. Brett Maddocks will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
