Services for Emily Quay Talbott, age 71, of Alamo will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 13, 2011 in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Rev. Matthew Stewart will officiate. Mrs. Talbott was the daughter of the late Harris Denton Mullis and the late Mary Emily Jones Mullis. She was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a supervisor at several restaurants in the Atlanta area. Mrs. Talbott was a resident of Morrow for thirty years before moving back to Laurens County approximately twenty-one years ago. She was well known for her expertise in homemaking and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Talbott is survived by her husband, Mike "Billy" Talbott, of Dublin; sons, Charles Denton (Heather) Talbott of St. Paul, MN, Michael Timothy (Leanna) Talbott, of Morrow, Albert Joseph (Pamela) Talbott, of McDonough, Mark Weston (Yancey) Talbott, of Atlanta; thirteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and sister, Sara V. (Hollis) Neal. Charles Denton Talbott, Michael Timothy Talbott, Albert Joseph Talbott, Mark Weston Talbott and grandsons, Michael Talbott and Christopher Talbott will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Serenity Hospice, 504 Parker Dairy Road, Dublin, GA 31021 or to Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, c/o Paul Young, 2873 Georgia Hwy 46, Dublin, GA 31021. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
