Emily Hobbs Wyatt, age 93, of Dublin, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017. Mrs. Wyatt was born on November 18, 1923 in Laurens County to the late Robert Dee and Ellen Jones Hobbs. She retired from the Dublin City Schools, where she worked as a parapro. She was lifetime member of Marie Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years. She also volunteered her time as a Sunday School teacher at Dublinair Nursing Home. Mrs. Wyatt was the 1996 Dublin Laurens Senior Citizen of the year, and loved baking for her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin M. Wyatt; daughter, Attoinette Wyatt; and brothers, Earl Hobbs, Edsel Hobbs, and Bobby Hobbs. She is survived by her son, Mervin Wyatt (Sue), of Stone Mountain; daughter, Kathy Allgood (Jimmy), of Dublin; grandchildren, Meredith Hartley (Chris), Zachary Wyatt (Lindsay), Jennifer Barden (Jared), Lanny Allgood (Kate), Lauren Allgood, and Lindsay Atkinson (Eric); eight great grandchildren; sister, Eldee Hobbs Rutland, and numerous nieces and nephews. Services for Mrs. Wyatt will be held on at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Marie Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Bobby Hutto will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until funeral hour at the church on Wednesday. Joe Fordham, Gene Fordham, Jackie Fordham, Chris Hartley, Zachary Wyatt, Lanny Allgood, and Eric Atkinson will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marie Baptist Church, 589 Perry Dairy Road, Dublin, GA 31021.
