Emma Clara Evans, age 96, of Rentz, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017. Graveside services will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, May 7, 2017 in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Larry Daniel and Rev. Len Woodard will officiate. Mrs. Evans was born in Laurens County to the late Luther and Eula Wyatt Woodard. She was a homemaker and the oldest member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, where she also sang in the choir. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hayden Benjamin Evans and siblings, Curtis Woodard, Gladys Smith, Malvin Woodard, Moyce Woodard, Edward Woodard, Genelle Evans, and Alfred L. Woodard, Sr. Survivors include her daughters, Fay Holland (Jimmy), of Dexter, Patsy Currie (Sammy), of Dublin, and Sharon Elks (Ted), of Rentz; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanette Self, of Warm Springs, GA and several nieces and nephews.
