Emory Michael
Wolfe
Jul 21, 1949 — Aug 18, 2026
Emory Michael Wolfe, age 77, of Dublin, Georgia, passed away on August 18, 2026.
A lifelong resident of Laurens County, Mike was a familiar and respected figure in his community. He was a proud graduate of Dublin High School and furthered his education at Georgia College and State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Education.
He was a dedicated businessman who owned and operated Southern Battery & Tire Company from 1971 to 1999, and later served as the Regional Marketing Manager with the Georgia Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism. Deeply committed to public service, Mike served the people of his community as a Laurens County Commissioner from 1980 until 1998, in addition to being an active member of the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce, the Laurens County Development Authority, and countless other civic organizations.
Mike was a longtime member of Bethsaida Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for many years. Away from his work and civic duties, he was a man of quiet depth and warmth. He had a profound love for reading and studying history, particularly the Civil War and World War II, and cherished nothing more than the time spent surrounded by his family. He was also widely known and appreciated for his thoughtful letter writing, leaving behind countless handwritten notes that touched the lives of those around him.
Mike was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jonathan Michael Wolfe.
He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly and will carry his memory forward, his devoted wife of many years, Barbara Cook Wolfe; his children, Charity Strickland and her husband Ryan, Callie Foskey and her husband Josh, and Jordan Wolfe and his wife Courtney; his cherished grandchildren, Sam Porrata, Lucy Porrata, Sawyer Strickland, Mollie Melton and her husband Trae, and Jack Foskey and his wife Amelia; and his precious great-grandchildren, Golden Mae and Sunday Lou Melton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethsaida Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 10:00 at Dublin Memorial Gardens.
