Services for Eschol Spires, Jr. age 79, of East Dublin, will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at the First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Myron Wise and Rev. Scottie Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Spires was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and worked as custodian for Dublin Head Start. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eschol and Alene Lowery Spires, and sons, Rex and Michael Spires. Survivors include his wife, Irene Spires, of East Dublin; children, Donnie (Barbara) Spires, of East Dublin, Steve (Rhonda) Spires, of Wrightsville, Sandra Kay Spires, of Dublin, Logan Spires, of East Dublin, Addison Spires, of East Dublin; grandchildren, Jon (Shannon) Spires, Dusty (Jessica) Spires, Stephanie (J. T.) Warren, Kimberly Williams, Scottie (Nicole) Williams, Josh Spires; great grandchildren, Megan Spires, Cam Spires, Chance Spires, Averie Spires, Mason Spires, Mikaylin Spires, Chloe Warren, Sophie Warren, Granger McFee, Ella Killingsworth, and Alexis Williams; brothers Roy Spires, of Jacksonville, Rayford (Emma Jean) Spires, of Eastman, sister Bernice (William) Ryals, of Rhine. J. T. Warren, Dusty Spires, Jon Spires, Josh Spires, Ray Spires, and Scottie Williams will serve as pallbearers.
