Ethel Hardy Fountain, 95, died peacefully on September 15, 2010, in Richmond, Virginia. Born on September 16 in Toombs County, GA, she was the widow of the late James Robert Fountain, Sr. She is survived by three children, James Robert, Jr., wife Kimberlee, and their son William (her only grandchild), of Benicia, CA; Derric Fountain, and wife Frances, of Damascus, MD; and Suzanne Fountain of Richmond, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 18 at 2.30pm in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home, 215 W. Jackson St., Dublin, GA, where the family will receive friends from 1.30pm. Rev. Jay Moore will officiate. Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Mrs. Fountain was a member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church, the Homemakers Sunday School Class and the Cane and Able Senior Choir. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She retired after many years as a school food service manager in Newport News, VA and Wilmington, NC. After returning to Dublin in retirement, she moved in 2002 to Lakewood Manor Baptist Home in Richmond, VA. She will be missed by family, friends and the caring staff of Lakewood Manor.
