Eunice W. Purvis of Dublin passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the age of 100. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.M. Purvis; parents, Ed and Irene Willis; daughter, Peggy Thionville and eight siblings. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Mary Anne Purvis; brother, Cecil Willis; sister-in-law, Wilma Willis; son-in-law, Paul C. Thionville of New Orleans, LA; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Purvis was a lifelong resident of Laurens County and was retired from Belk Department Store after many years of service. She was a member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church and the (Emeritus) of the Dublin Chapter #175 Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Purvis loved spending time with her family and loved ones and had many wonderful friends. Her memory will always be cherished. Services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, December 27, 2013 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Nolon McDaniel will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
